2022 Paddlers Awards Winners – 2022 Augsburg Slalom Worlds, Event of the Year.
The 2022 ICF Slalom World Championships wins the Paddlers Awards in the Event of the Year category. A celebration of the 50th anniversary of the introduction of whitewater kayaking in the Olympic Games (Munich 1972) and the inauguration of the redesigned Eiskanal. What a week it was! On top of running a perfectly smooth event with record media coverage worldwide, the organizers managed to gather the who’s who of whitewater kayaking over the past 50 years and beyond with a series of events designed for those legends. With an older generation recognized, a new generation was inspired.
