Nepal Rivers Conservation Trust
Since its inception in 1995, the NRCT has worked towards conserving Nepal’s Himalayan river system, preserving Nepal’s cultural heritage and developing an environmentally responsible river tourism industry. Currently the NRCT is urging the government to protect Nepal’s classic rivers such as the Karnali, Trishuli and Bhote Khoshi from hydroelectric development and to keep them free-flowing.
As part of this effort, they are encouraging the government to formulate a National River Policy for the management, development and conservation of our rivers and a Rafting Information Management System (RIMS) for the management of rafting industries, to promote Nepal as world’s best whitewater destination. NRCT urges all the people to join SAVE OUR RIVERS MOVEMENT. For more info go to http://www.nepalrivers.org.np
