Shoulder Comeback Tour (Entry #11 Short Film Awards 2024)
After a hefty shoulder surgery from an injury on the Royal Gorge runout, I had one goal on my mind: to finally run the Grand Canyon of the Stikine. My next opportunity would come in august 2024. I hadn’t been able to paddle for 2 years leading up to this. 12 months out, I barely had the shoulder strength to paddle from riverbank to riverbank. I had to relearn how to kayak, retrain muscles, regrow callouses, regain balance. All in 12 months.
