A Postcard to Save the Tyrolean Whitewater
The tyrolean whitewater community need it fellows free flowing lovers around the world. The plan is to send the Tyrolean government a postcard to denounce and fight the dam plan on the Ötztaler Ache Valley (Where the Sickline race takes place… and a world class whitewater destination, one of europe’s best!).
The Dam will dry out the affected rivers for 80% of it capacity. The water will diverted to the next valley. « They take our valley away from us » says Bernie Steidl, Owner of S2S Kayak School.
Those postcard will go directly to the people that make the final call – the more postcard they receive, and the more postcard coming from all over the world, the more they realize that they are destroying a major eco-environment, but also a great eco-touristic attraction.
The movement has now gone way further than the kayaking community; the entire outdoor community, the people of Austria are understanding the stakes here, companies starts to enter and support financially the fight; more than ever we can make a difference!
