Devils Extreme Race 2014 – Aug 29/31st

Summer is slowly coming to end and like every other year Czech Republic’s very own extreme kayak event is getting closer. Held on the Moldau river, the Devils stream section is packed with whitewater races, rafting, slalom, downriver and of course our very own Devils Extreme Race! This year’s event is set to start on August 29th until the 31st. Here are a few details for competitors and visitors alike:

-The number of competitors is limited to 80, so if you want to take part in the event you should quickly head over to our online registration www.devilsextremerace.com

– We are opening a K1W category if there’s a minimum of 10 women registered.

– C1 is category is open.

– The top 32 competitors are now going to the final rounds.

-The race course for the qualification sprint will start from the Loucovice weir and finish just above the Bloody Fingers rapid (Class IV+ WW). The top 32 competitors from qualifications will then be put into pairs (Fastest time + Slowest time) for the Head to Head race, which will be held on the biggest rapid of the Devils stream “Schody“ (Class V). We hope that these changes will make the racing more enjoyable for the competitors and more spectacular for the crowd.

Waka Kayaks has now become the main sponsor of the event and one lucky competitor will be going back home with one of their famous Tuna. Rules of the game are still to be determined.

Some of the biggest names on the extreme kayak circuit have already confirmed their presence such as Sam Sutton, Mike Dawson, Honza Lasko, Eric Deguil, and many more.

And of course a good event isn’t complete without some good parties, so here some highlights:

Friday:

14.00 to 18.00 free training and riding
17.00 to 23.00 registration
20.00 race meeting

Saturday

10.00 – meeting at the top of the qualification course
14:00 head to head – top 32 from qualifications (200m of class 5)
22.00 ceremony, handing over prize money, winners party

Sunday

8.00 to 17.00 free riding (team race in case of interest)
