Evening Airtime – (Entry# 1 – Short Film of the Year Awards 2014)
In the Central North Island of New Zealand a bunch of local kayakers were dream chasing, sitting in the thermal hot pools of Rotorua. The idea was simple: Go kayaking in the middle of the night, with the canyons and rapids lit up royally by flood lights, emergency flares and fireworks.
As spectacular as it sounds we realized that this dream was actually feasible. A grande crew of kayakers, lighting, filming and saftey crews and not to mention the many spectators came together in the dead of the night running the two most classic sections of whitewater in the North Island. Huka Falls and Troutpool Falls on the Kaituna River.
