Heber Fever 2019 (Canada)
Gold River is a small town on Vancouver Island, called by some the « promised land » of kayaking. The town itself has no cell service and no grocery store, but is nestled amongst beautiful coastal rainforest, extensive logging lands, and some of the best whitewater on Vancouver Island. Within about 30 minutes of driving from the town centre, one can access 12 sections of rivers. This year on Easter weekend, a group of paddlers visited the area for « Heber Fever, » named after the Heber River, which flows through the town. Here are some of the highlights from the weekend.
