It’s That Time of the Year Again #2 – (Kayak Session 2013 Green Race Coverage with Shane Benedict)

The Green Race may get even more interesting this year… One thing the paddlers have been talking about all week has been a front of rain that is supposed to sweep through the area tonight during the Halloween party. Thank goodness we’ll be inside. At first it didn’t look like it would be much but as the day grows closer it is starting to loom very large. The first year of the Green Race we had high water probably close to 12 or 14″ inches on the gage. In 2004 the water was really high and only 8 racers competed. I guestimate that level to have been around 18″ inches. Last year was also a high water year near 12 inches. The rain front is dropping a lot of rain east of the Green River. We will see what happens as it moves our way this evening.
