Festival Rio Cubatão do Sul (Brazil)
Open to all kayakers, young & old, beginners & advanced, to enjoy in a spirit of friendship & fun the most beautiful part of the river Cubatão, located a half-hour drive from the Island of Florianópolis, capital of Santa Catarina, in Southern Brazil.
The River
The Rio Cubatão do Sul has two sections. The lower part is a short run 3 km long with class III and IV rapids where on the second day the extreme race will take place. The upper section known as Black Canyon is longer with around 11 km of nice rapids and beautiful scenery, flowing right through the Atlantic forest in the heart of the State Park Serra do Tabuleiro.
For kayaker from Brazil and Beyond!
In earlier editions of the festival organizers had the pleasure to welcome kayakers not only from the whole of Brazil, but from the international kayaking community as well. For those travelling from far: this season’s conditions are exceptionally well: the levels of the Cubatão are perfect with ample opportunities for runs in rivers close by, where in the last years many first descents have taken place, as the sport is finding more fans slowly but steadily.

We are Kayak Brasil are motivated by the enthusiasm shared by Brazilian & foreign kayakers alike for the Rio Cubatão do Sul; our goal is to make each edition of the festival better than the last and boost white water kayaking in Brazil.
