Kopili River, Meghalaya (India)

For British paddler Jake Holland we live in the golden age of kayak exploration… Check out the first episode of a web serie coming up in the next weeks, on his adventures in India. Episode 1, The Kopili river sits in the state of Meghalaya, India. It is undoubtedly a world class stretch, with pretty much every style of White Water within its 27km length! They ran the river twice, once as a over night trip, followed by its first one day decent. Like many of Asia’s rivers this section on the Kopili is unfortunately threatened by a large Dam project.
