Lower Tsitsa Gorge at High Water (Kayaking in South Africa)
Since the first descent in 2006 the Lower Tsitsa Gorge in the former Transkei region of South Africa has only been paddled four times. Tales of remote access, tricky logistics, big waterfalls and difficult whitewater tend to keep people away. One thing is certain, it is a classic and fast gaining legendary status as one of the best whitewater over-nighters on the African continent. This short film follows six kayakers on a descent of the gorge at the highest levels it has ever been paddled.
Paddlers: Shane Raw, Phillip Claasens, Scott Reinders, Scheepers Schoeman, Jason Boulle and Ivan Kruger.
