The 3rd edition of the Champion Race is just a few days away! In a week’s time, the Parc Aquasports will be holding its winter season-closing event: the CHAMPION RACE!
This is an innovative event with a different race format that aims to shake things up. The finals will take place over a course of 12 gates, including 4 stops offering a level of difficulty that’s just about impossible. The idea is to push the participants’ limits with highly technical sequences where risk-taking will be the watchword.
« Plotter Antoine Roux, coach at the International Slalom Academy, the Park’s private training centre, told us that the real question would be how many paddlers would manage to get through all the gates without making a mistake ».
To ensure that the party is full and that all the paddlers can enjoy the event, the qualifiers will be held on a traditional 22-gate course. The organisers look forward to seeing you on their networks, where special attention will be paid to enabling as many people as possible to follow the event from the web. Focusing on this race also allows us to highlight this winter training destination for slalom paddlers from all over Europe.
Over the years, Pau and the white water stadium have become a leading destination for slalom kayaking in winter, welcoming many teams and groups of top-level slalom paddlers who come to take advantage of the mild weather conditions, top-of-the-range infrastructure and dynamic team offering athletes a quality welcome.
