The Malabar River Festival – (Kayak Session Short Film of the Year Awards 2013 – Entry# 42)
White water kayaking in South India, until very recently, was a sport that very few people had heard about. A small group of passionate kayakers took it upon themselves to not only explore the hidden gems that this country had to offer but to promote the sport in anyway possible. Thus the idea of the first ever Malabar River Festival was born, a two day river festival aimed at popularizing and creating awareness about this amazing adventure sport. The festival brought together about 30 kayakers from all over India and various other parts of the world to culminate into the biggest adventure race this country has ever witnessed. Presented in video is the story of how the party unfolded.
