The Nymboida River (The Nymbo) in Northern NSW is one of Australia’s foremost whitewater destinations, celebrated for its exceptional rapids and breathtaking natural vistas. Stretching across approximately 170 kilometres, this remarkable watercourse offers numerous sections catering to paddlers of varying skill levels.

Beyond the Nymboida, this guidebook unveils a treasure trove of over 800 kilometres of astonishing whitewater tributaries, encompassing everything from low-volume waterfall descents to scenic canoe voyages. The unique combination of rugged mountain terrain and the Dorrigo Plateau, one of the nation’s wettest regions, ensures a consistently reliable supply of whitewater adventures in Australia.

The guide presents logistical details and descriptions for each run drawn from the collective wisdom of local paddlers spanning decades plus things of interest to visitors including aboriginal, European and paddling history of the area, flora, fauna and geology. The book also includes 16 maps, 180 colour photos contributed by many people and humorous anecdotes from paddlers over the years. This book is the ultimate resource for planning your next-day trip, multi-day expedition, or extended paddling holiday.

The Nymbo is available at all good Aussie kayaking shops or online at Nymboidaguidebook.com
