Upper Brazeau Multi-Day
Bretton Beisel and I embarked on a mission to the rarely run Upper Brazeau in the heart of the Alberta Rockies on the Banff and Jasper National Park Boarders. Water levels were guesswork and the river beta was out of a guidebook released in 1996. All we knew for sure was there was a fifteen km (9.3 mile) hike to the put-in with some world class scenery along the way. We encountered frost, Northern Lights, waterfalls, a first descent, sickness (like actual sickness not just whitewater sickness) and a long paddle through one of the most untouched pristine valleys Alberta has to offer. Enjoy the show.
