Valbona Kayak Fest 2023, April 19th-23rd
Have you ever heard about the Albanian alps? With crystal-clear creeks and whitewater from Class I – VI, it is a paradise for river lovers! If you travel thru the Albanian alps in search of beautiful rivers to paddle, you will surely end up in the Valbona Valley. There is no better time to visit than this spring. From April 19th-23rd, the first Valbona Kayak Fest will take place.
For four days, nature and whitewater enthusiasts can enjoy guided tours on the Valbona River, refresh their river safety skills, or help locals with their first paddle strokes. Evenings will be spent gathered around the campfire, sharing local food and music. The Valbona Valley is a hidden gem in eastern Europe.
The goal of the festival is to help share knowledge with the locals and introduce them to the beauty of the kayaking lifestyle, planting the seeds for an evolving kayak community to help develop ecotourism and prevent future hydroelectric projects.
